Bengaluru: Modi is trying to divide Hindus and Muslims- Digvijay Singh

Bengaluru, Dec 20: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to divide Hindus and Muslims in the country,” said Digvijay Singh, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Karnataka on Monday, December 19.

Digvijay was speaking at a programme organised to mark the Communal Harmony Day by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghatan.

“Systematic efforts are being made to create distrust about Muslims. Fundamentalism, irrespective of religion, is detrimental to society,” he added.

“Those who killed Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi are not Muslims. The first war of independence against the British in 1857 failed due to lack of unity between Hindus and Muslims. Friendship between Ashfaqulla Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil, freedom fighters, should be the role model,” he opined.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah speaking on the occasion said “The BJP is trying to mislead people. Communal forces are trying to spread their tentacles. Youths should be careful about it. Though the JD(S) claims to be a secular party, it does not hesitate to join hands with the BJP for the sake of power,”

    dear Digvijay singh,

    before blaming Modi, please ask yourself. what is the role of congress party for dividing the people in the name of religion. from the last 70 years you have done the samething. why there is a reservation based on religion/caste? why from the birth to death people has to provide their religion/caste in school/govt office etc... who introduced vote bank politics? who introduced shaadi bhaghya? who feel bad when govt talk about Pakistan's terrorism/terrosit? what about terrorist attack & killing innocent people?

    your congress ruled this country from last 70 years. but what steps you people have taken to reduce the gap between Hindus & Muslims. if you people have done something present situation would not be there. you people understand only minority & majority.

Coz 1st place congress was corrupt and there was no other choice ....... and BJP and RSS got chance.... people know it's devide and rule but what's the other option ????? Are you guys clear ??? If so 1st remove all corrupt leaders and book them under corruption cases starting from top brass ( Gandi family ).

    This was there before independence and even now. Both muslims & hindus are living in this country. Now Hindus are in majority so they are wooing them later when muslims become majority it will be vice versa. Nothing new.

    The main reason for the divide between Hindu's and Muslim's is your Reservation policy, not BJP. BJP only tries to use this divide for votes, but you guys are the real people who divided India on communal lines.
