Udupi: Bhaskar case- Durga Hotel office in-charge assaulted, manager threatened

Udupi, Dec 20: A gang assaulted office in-charge of Hotel Durga International here on December 18, as per the complaint received at the city police station here. Later manager of the hotel also complained that he received threat.

Sandesh is the person who was assaulted. As per the complaint, Rajeshwari Shetty’s sister Roopa Bhaskar Shetty, her son Bhargava Shetty and 5 others were involved in the assault.

The hotel belongs to Bhaskar Shetty, who was murdered and his wife Rajeshwari, who is accused of killing her husband.

Roopa Shetty and Bhargava Shetty had changed the lock of the office when Sandesh was away in Bengaluru. On Sunday, they called Sandesh to the parking of the hotel and assaulted him with the help of 5 persons. Sandesh somehow managed to run away from them with the help of his friends. Then he complained to the city police station.

After Bhaskar Shetty was murdered, Shiraj, Bhaskar Naik, Jayaraj, Ramakrishna Naik and Balakrishna Alva, all employees of the hotel, started looking after the hotel and paid Rs 1 lac to Gulabi Shetty, mother of Bhaskar Shetty.

Later another complaint was lodged at the same police station by manager of the hotel Ajith Kumar. He has said that Sandesh, Pradeep Pai, Jayaraj and four others abused and posed life threat to him on December 18.

Ajith Kumar says that Sandesh, Pradeep Pai, Jayaraj and four others entered the hotel premises forcibly and abused and threatened him after he objected them to force open the door of the office.

Roopa Shetty has also complained to the same police station that she also received threats.
