Doha, Dec 28: Hanan XII emerged division - I champions at the 22nd Gulf Incon – Metabo Cricket Tournament 2016 after defeating M Pallonji team by 14 runs at West Bay Cricket Grounds.
M Pallonji had won the toss and elected to field first. Hanan XII lost their in form opening batsman Aswar for 1 in the first over. He was bowled out by Radiq in an inning’s first over, when the team score reached just 2. M Pallonji bowlers continued their precise bowling and kept Hanan XII in check. Hanan XII were restricted to 36 for 4 wickets after completion of 6 overs. They lost their top order batsmen Ansar, Faisal, Azhar. Niyamath (39) later kept the scoreboard racing with two good partnerships - Ameen (20) and Hameed (43). Hameed continued till the end of the innings and helped Hanan XII to reach a defendable total of 192 for 9 in 20 overs. Hameed's quickfire of 43 came from 24 balls with 5 sixes. Other contributions from Hanan XII came from Rauf with 18 runs, Tabiz with 12 runs.
M Pallonji's bowlers namely Radiq, Talha, Ibrahim, Sandesh, Naveed, Ayub, Alban and Rajesh took one wicket each.
In reply, M Pallonji began with caution and lost their first 5 wickets in 6 overs with a team score of 39. Opening batsman Radiq was the only player who retired after scoring 12 runs from his first 12 balls. Azhar and Parvez took two wickets each in their first overs. Thereafter Rajesh 28, Captain Neeraj 28 and Alban 38 fought well and brought the score to 128 for 5 at the completion of 15 overs. Three quick wickets of Alban, Dinesh and Neeraj pushed team M Pallonji back with just 178 runs at the end of 20 overs. Aswar knocked out Neeraj removedand Imran knocked out in form batsman Alban.
Azhar, Parvez and Aswar from Hanan XII took two wickets each and Imran, Niyamat and Amin took one wicket each.
Hameed was declared Man of the Final for his quickfire 43 runs.

Niyamat of Hanan XII was declared Best Batsman, Ruwan of Qalco was Best Bowler, Imran of Hanan XII was best all-rounder and Neeraj of M Pallonji was best wicketkeeper.
At the prize distributing ceremony, Sajjad Ahmed Khan- senior sales and marketing manager- Metabo / Gulf Incon was present along with Ravi Chandran- senior stores supervisor, guest of honor Adil from Houston USA and Qatar Veterans cricket officials and handed over the winners and runners trophies. Lots of gifts were distributed to the Lucky Dip winners .
Organizers had arranged free snacks and Filli café served tasty Saffron Tea to the all spectators at the ground.
