Mangaluru, Jan 2: Jaison J Sequeira, who has made a name for himself with his maiden Konkani music album 'Ho Jeev', enthralled the audience with his maiden musical nite 'Poilo Sur' at Kalangann, Shaktinagar here on Sunday January 1.

The evening kick-started with Nihal Tauro, the new sensation of Konkani music opening the nite with Jaison's song 'Vorsa Adhlo Mog'. This was followed by Jaison who rendered the song 'Duka Savlenth'. Ashwin D'Costa with 'Pavsa Thembe', Jaqueline Fernandes with 'Lisha', Aroma, Olita and Jaison with 'Jini Sompleli Kani' captivated the audience with their melodious rendering of Jaison's songs. The icing on the cake was when Reuben, a talented musician from the city performed the song 'Ek Fulachi Pakli Tu' on flute.

The numbers 'Tuzo Moga Mog Hav Karta', 'Lab Dab Lab Dab', 'Molbar Neketra', 'Gadir Ek Bob Zali' received wide appreciation from the audience. As the name 'Poilo Sur' depicts, the nite comprised only music, and sharing a thought on this, Jaison during the interval said, "If my music has the power to hold the audience in their seats for two or more hours, then there was no need for comedy skits."

The nite was compered by Gurkar of Mandd Sobhann Eric Ozario, with Jaison adding his thoughts about the composition. Jaison was given floral welcome prior to the nite by president of Mandd Sobhann Louis J Pinto.

Best wishes to Jaison Sequeira and his team for their maiden musical venture at Kala Angan. We all need to encourage the young blood to take active part in creating occasions such as these because that's how we strengthen our native culture and also open the doors for the youth to come forward and strengthen their roots of talents.

    Best of luck
