Dubai: Konkan Yuva announces winners of Christmas Crib contest

Media Release

Dubai, Jan 3: Come Christmas season, people celebrate the birth of Jesus by enjoying the time with their families and sharing presents/kuswar (homemade sweets during Christmas) with neighbours. On the other hand people wait patiently for the month of December to come up with creative Nativity scenes and portray their crafting skills.

Konkan Yuva, the youth wing of St Mary's Church, Dubai, from the west coast region of India, gives extra joy to the crib preparing families by announcing the crib competitions every year. This year too the youth association organized a successful competition.

As soon as the competition was announced, Konkan Yuva received a tremendous response from the participants. It gives everybody involved an opportunity to demonstrate their talents.

KY secretary, Smitha Priya Pinto who has taken an initiative for arranging the crib inspections said, "We received around 28 entries for the competitions from various nationalities. The eagerness they show us when we enter their little abodes for the crib inspection make our efforts worthwhile. It is such a joy to see the kids' fervour and to take part in the crib preparation actively and explain the theme and preparation of cribs. We are proud of the parents who have inculcated the traditions and passed the values onto their kids."

President and members of Konkan Yuva, I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every participant for their efforts to prepare the crib.

Konkan Yuva wishes everyone a Happy New Year 2017.

Gestures appear to be small but let's make no mistake that these creative thoughts need lot of good preparation in order to organize the Crib Contest and the right winners.

Besides, these kind of thoughts also create enthusiasm amongst the public to get more prepared for the next year with a view to provide more artistic Cribs for next year.

Let the youth receive best of support in their future plans, and let the season of Xmas bring greater joy of togetherness for a joyful and exciteful Xmas season.
