Dawood Ibrahim's assets worth Rs 15,000 cr seized in UAE

New Delhi, Jan 3 (Agencies): In what is believed to be the biggest ever crackdown on Mumbai serial blasts mastermind Dawood Ibrahim, a report on Tuesday claimed that the UAE government has seized the fugitive underworld don's assets worth Rs 15,000 crore.

Zee Media on Tuesday claimed that Dawood has several properties, including hotels and shares in top rung companies in UAE.

The UAE authorities have also sealed properties of Dawood in Dubai.

The UAE government had recently begun an inquiry into properties of Dawood Ibrahim in Dubai after receiving a confidential list from India.

The list was provided to the UAE authorities when Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, visited UAE last year.

The Government of India had then requested the UAE government to seize the properties belonging to Dawood and his crime syndicate.

The dossier provided by India to UAE listed several properties and also reportedly made a mention about a company known as ''Golden Box'' being allegedly run in Dubai by Dawood's brother.

The dossier stated that this company is being run by Anis Ibrahim who is the younger brother of Dawood.

Besides Dubai, Dawood has investments in Morocco, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Thailand, Cyprus, Turkey, India, Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

It is a coincident with the dates announced for 5 states elections?

Interestingly BJP is again deviated the attention from 'development' to garner more votes using national security.

Why there are no information available in official 'Interpol' website or Home ministry portal?

While in Zurich, I have read the application form and conditions of Credit Suisse. They do not know white and black and accept deposits after interview, minimum being US $ 500,000. Since, they answer only to Swiss Govt, to get the money back by India seems difficult.

In India, Govt had confiscated many properties of Dawood, but up to now, Govt could not sell even a single property. People who sent bid for auction, have never reached auction site, due to death threats. The assets seized by UAE, may not be given to India by that Govt.

Secondly, people know that many Hotels belongs to D & Co, but are his partners visible on the list? His henchmen may be YES.

Thirdly, If the Properties belongs to Anees or Any Shetty BIZ man then how will Govt of India prove its belongs to Dawood...???

It's like searching a needle from the haystack.

But what is the proof? Is this like surgical strike on Pakistan??? Is Dawood Ebrahim visited UAE in recent days to buy the property and establish the company? If the asset is registered in the name of Anees Ebrahim, Dubai govt cannot seize it because wanted person in Dawood not Anees. Central govt have to put some proof to the public to believe this.

Let the Hindustan govt also provide the info about how many assets seized within Hindustan..,

Let the UAE govt complete the investigation about these alleged assets belong to D Company and confirm that these were belong to D Co..,

Definitely, the UAE govt may ask lot more related info to prove beyond reasonable doubt that these assets were in fact beneficially belong/owned by D Company.., Hope our govt representative Shri Ajit Dovalji can provide the same.
