Mangaluru, Jan 5: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday January 4, caught National Highways Special Land Acquisition Officer, Gayathri Nayak receiving bribe at her office at Mini Vidhana Soudha here.
A person named Yogish from Kasargod had complained that Gayathri Nayak had demanded bribe from him. ACB officers who went to Gayathri Nayak’s office in the afternoon caught her red handed receiving Rs 20,000 from Yogish.
Yogish told ACB that Gayathri had demanded bribe from the compensation of Rs 17.5 lac he received from the government. He had already paid her Rs 1.3 lac. Other people too had paid her bribe from the compensation they received, it is gathered.
Gayathri Nayak had worked as Tahasildar in Kundapur. After that she was made National Highways Special Land Acquisition Officer. For some time she had additional responsibility as executive officer at Pilikula Nisargadhama.
