Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Jan 5: BJP district unit on Thursday, January 5 condemned the registration of case against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel despite his clarification which was published in media.

Slamming Congress over the case against MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP spokesperson Jitendra S Kottary said, "Let Congress admit that law and order has completely failed in the district. The murders of the activists of Sangh Parivar, attempts to murder and such other incidents are proof of revenge politics of Congress during its rule in Karnataka in the last three years.

"A majority of Hindus are angry with repeated incidents of crime. Some of the Congress leaders are involved in the police investigations regarding crimes committed by fanatics from Kerala who systematically come into the district, the district BJP stated in press release.

"Ullal is already communally sensitive and has become a den for terrorists. Congress leaders forgot that Hyderabad explosion mastermind Riyaz Bhatkal was provided bomb from Ullal which was a gross injustice to the people of the district. Let the Congress leaders understand that giving up unnecessary protests and preventing such unpleasant incidents in Ullal is real politics," the release stated.

"MP Nalin Kumar has truly expressed the feelings of the people. Therefore Congress should give up dirty politics and provide justice to innocent Karthik Raj," urged BJP district spokesman Jitendra S Kottary.

Parameshwara should resign over molestation case

BJP district unit further demanded the resignation of minister of home affairs Dr G Parameshwara in connection to the molestation of women in Bengaluru on New Year's Eve.

In a press release, BJP district secretary Namitha Sham stated, "The assault of a gang on a young girl in Bengaluru, when people were celebrating and welcoming the New Year, and sexual assault by miscreants on a student at Kamanahalli at about 2.45 am that night, have given sleepless nights to citizens. The anxiety whether women are safe in the state is deep rooted in people.

"Siddaramaiah government's slumber is directly responsible for Karnataka's change from the land of Kannada, well-known as the garden of peace for all religions, to a land where women cannot live in peace. Law and order machinery has failed completely. Home minister Prameshwara has reacted as if the incident was ordinary. BJP district unit condemns the irresponsible statement of the home minister.

"BJP Dakshina Kannada district unit also urges the state Women's Commission and others to take interest in the freedom and safety of women. Home minister Parameshwara, who supports miscreants with evasive statements with regard to several cases of women's exploitation and mass harassment, has lost moral right to continue in office. If the trend continues, the people of Karnataka will teach a lesson to the Siddaramaiah government similar to the one taught in Delhi after the Nirbhaya incident," BJP said.

BJP also urged stringent punishment to the guilty.
