Beltangady: 34-year-old dies in pick-up truck-bike collision at Kokkada

Beltangady, Jan 6: A 34-year-old man was killed on the spot in a tragic accident at Kokkada here on Friday January 6.

The deceased has been identified as Dhananjay, a native of Vittal.

The collision took place between a Bolero pick-up truck and Dhananjay's bike at Upparapalike in Kokkada here, killing him instantly.

Dhanajay leaves behind his wife and a one-year-old child.

He was riding towards his wife's parental house when the accident took place.

He was also a member of Hindu Yuva Sene, sources said. He had plans to go on pilgrimage to Sabarimala shortly.

Dharmasthala police have registered a case.

    RIP, Sad news, the kind of infrastructure we have is very dengoures for two wheel riders, and lack of driving sense of truck and heavy vehicle drivers cause these accidents.

    Very sad..RIP...
    its becoming everyday news...May god save us.... learning all this everyday Iam really scared of riding two wheeler in mangalore road than riding in Mumbai's heavy traffic zone...
    We should Always wear a helmet and protect your hands and feet with gloves and sturdy boots, or specialised gear designed for bikers. Always keep a lookout in your rear view mirrors for those about to overtake you or interfere with your chosen line on the road. Always ride defensively and be alert about what's ahead, behind and to your side....
