Father would have never supported a bigot: Nancy Sinatra on Trump

Los Angeles, Jan 6 (IANS): Late legendary singer Frank Sinatra's daughter Nancy Sinatra says that her father would have never performed at Donald Trump's inauguration if asked.

In a conversation with her fans on Twitter, when a fan asked her if Frank would have performed for Trump, Nancy on Thursday cleared that her famous father would not have performed, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

"He would never support a bigot," she posted.

Several performers have come under fire for either agreeing or refusing to perform at Trump's upcoming inauguration day.

Struggling to attract A-list talent to the inauguration day festivities, Trump's team announced that the precision dance company The Rockettes would perform, which caused backlash both directed at and among the group. Some reports said the Rockettes were being forced to perform at risk of losing their jobs.

According to the publication, when word spread that the marching band of Talladega College, a historically black college in Alabama, will perform in the January 20 inaugural parade, the school came under criticism as debate spread across the campus.

One member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir quit the group after they agreed to perform at the event. The singer posted that by performing at the inauguration, the choir appears to be "endorsing tyranny and fascism".

Nancy has been an outspoken critic of President-elect Trump.

Earlier, she tweeted about Trump: "DT (Donald Trump) has very bad judgement. It's going to be a rough ride and for me it's more about the people who will pull the strings than the puppet. He has surrounded himself with horrible people."
