Udupi Jan 7: A drunken taxi driver literally sent two two-wheelers to a ditch on Saturday, January 7. Luckily there was no casualty.

The incident took place at Lakshmindra Nagara in Manipal. The riders of a Luna moped and a Bullet bike parked their vehicles and went to a small shop. A white colour taxi, which came on that road, first hit the Luna and then the Bullet. Both two-wheelers ended up in a ditch nearby.

Onlookers said the taxi driver was drunk.

A case stands registered at Manipal police station.

A taxi is intended to help people and transport them to their destinations. It is unfortunate that A SERVICE PROVIDER was under the influence of drink.

Hope the Police will make proper investigations and ensure that that such incidents do not take place in future.
