Mangaluru: DC Jagadeesha inspires students at Expert PU College

Mangaluru, Jan 7: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr K G Jagadeesha, on Saturday January 7 advised students to have sturdy and robust ambitions which spur them even during sleep.

In an interactive session at Expert PU College, Valachil here, Dr K G Jagadeesha fielded a plethora of questions on a variety of topics. Impressed with the prolific curiosity and vivacious enthusiasm of Expert students, he confessed that he didn’t possess such awareness during his student days and expressed his appreciation for the towering achievements of Expert.

He began his elaborate and enlightening address by quoting Steve Jobs and urged the students to pursue their dreams relentlessly, with utmost commitment.

Showering praises at the Expert College Anthem, ‘Shramayeva Jayathe’, he stressed that hard work is indispensable for students, even when they have access to the best teaching/learning facilities. He opined that a good educational institution does not provide substitutes to hard work, but helps students to channelize their hard work in the right direction.

Dr Jagadeesha emphasized the importance of leading a balanced life and encouraged the students to overcome the fear of failure by being prepared for the worst. He concluded his talk with the famous Steve Jobs’ quote on ‘Connect the dots’ implying that sincere, passionate efforts don’t go unrewarded.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, in his introductory remarks, motivated the students by sharing the success story of Dr Jagadeesha who seized the opportunities that came his way, against all odds. He thanked the honourable deputy commissioner for accepting his invitation to conduct an interactive session with the students.

Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions, in her address, made it clear that Expert never intends to get in the way of students by setting unreasonable goals for them. Instead, Expert wishes that every student who walks out of the portals should become so good that they become eligible to gain entry into any institution that fulfils their dreams.

She presented a memento to Dr K G Jagadeesha on the occasion.

Ankush N Nayak, AICE faculty and alumnus, Expert PU College and Dr N K Vijayan, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil graced the programme.

Druthi V Hegde, chemistry faculty welcomed the audience and compered the programme. Sharana Kariappa, president, Expert Student Parliament proposed the vote of thanks.
