Mangaluru, Jan 8: A girl has filed sexual assault case against an astrologer who is police custody for fraud case.
Ramakrishna Sharma who ran an astrology office from Attavar in the name of Vaishnavi Jyothishyalaya is the person accused.

As per the complaint lodged at south women’s police station here, the girl who had problems in getting employment after her graduation approached the Ramakrishna Sharma for astrological help. Ramachandra took Rs 9,000 from her with the promise of solving her problems and later sexually assaulted her. During the assault, the astrologer told her that he was doing the rituals and pujas to drive away evil forces from her. The girl managed to run away from him during the assault, but could not tell anybody about her problems.
When city based rationalist Prof Narendra Nayak exposed the astrologer this week in a sting operation and the news about it appeared in newspapers, the girl got some courage and phoned Prof Nayak to explain her ordeal.
Prof Nayak took her to the police to lodge a complaint against the astrologer.
Two members of the Janvadi Mahila Sanhgatane have come forward to help this girl in her search for justice.
The girl had gone to the astrologer after seeing an advertisement in TV.
Teh accused was arrested after Prof Nayak had lodged complaint against him after the sting operation. The accused is still in judicial custody.
