Bengaluru, Jan 8: It is almost confirmed now that Geetha Mahadeva Prasad also known as M C Mohan Kumari, wife of late cooperation minister H S Mahadeva Prasad, who died on January 3, will be the Congress party candidate from the Gundlupet Assembly constituency for the upcoming by-election.

The by-election will have to be held soon following the death of Mahadeva Prasad, who represented the constituency.

Speaking to reporters after performing the third-day rituals of Prasad at the family farmhouse in Halahalli near Gundlupet, Geetha said that she would decide about politics after the 11th day death ritual of Prasad.

“I will take further decision as per the suggestions of chief minister Siddaramaiah and Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math. My husband worked hard for the development of the constituency. It is imperative for me to take additional responsibility to continue his good works.” she said.

Later reports say that Geetha met the chief minister Siddaramaiah with her son Ganesh Prasad and agreed to contest the bye-election.

But no official statement regarding the same has come from anybody till now.
