Mangaluru, Jan 8: Two persons were assaulted by a gang of 25 people on the night of Saturday January 7, in Kotepura near Ullal.

Nifan (21) from Bandikotya and Hanif from Mukkacherry are the persons injured.

As per the complaint, Nifan and Hanif were on an Active scooter when a sand carrying lorry hit them from behind. When the duo fell down, the gang of 25 beat them with wooden planks with the intention of killing them. Just before the police arrived at the spot after receiving information about the assault, the gang fled from the scene.
