Mangaluru, Jan 8: In more bad news to the family of Vinayak Baliga, the slain RTI activist's mother Jayanti Baliga passed away on Sunday January 8. She was 81.

Wife of B Ramachandra Baliga, Jayanti suffered a massive brain hemorrhage and was in coma for the past few days.

After the brutal murder of her son Vinayak Baliga in March 2016, she had been suffering from anxiety and was very much depressed, said rationalist Prof Narendra Nayak who has been fighting for justice for the family.

She leaves behind four daughters Shwetha, Asha, Anu and Harsha.

"Her husband B Ramachandra Baliga and she had been fighting a valiant battle to get justice for the murder of their only son. She had an expressed the hope that justice would be done during her life time which has been now belied," Prof Nayak said.

Her mortal remains will be kept at their residence behind Sterling Chambers, PVS Kala Kunj Road for all to pay their respects from 8 am on Monday January 9. The cremation will be at the Bolar crematorium.

The RTI activist's murder near his house on March 21, 2016 had rocked the coastal region. The main accused Naresh Shenoy had gone absconding for about two months, before he was finally arrested. He was granted bail by the high court in September the same year. The family then approached the Supreme Court against the bail order, after which the SC issued notice to the accused and asked the state government to furnish relevant details.

    Law and order Failure
I am an RTI Activist and a Social Worker. Served as Lioness President, Residential News Reporter and an Insurance Advisor.
During the past 3 years Uppinangady Police Station PSI filed 3 false case against me. All cases were proved false by Court.
I have traced some illegal land dealing records by RTI. Culprits of this illegal business filed false complaints against me. Bribed Police personnel filed charge sheets against me without any inquiry or notice.
This is my bitter experience as an RTI activist.

    God May Bless you
Dear Roopa - Almighty bless your noble cause. I have also falsely supercharged by Uppinangady PSI. Later Hon'ble Dist Session Court quashed that false case.

Is it necessary to bring such incorrect laws like RTI?
    Indians need to introspect...
Number of deaths in RTI is more than deaths in demonetization or any any other reform laws. Please give a thought
