Bengaluru, Jan 10: In an incident reminiscent of the recent deaths of two actors donning villainous roles for Kannada movie, 'Mastigudi' during the shooting of an adventurous scene, another actor, this time a lady, died in an accident which occurred on Monday January 9. It also shows the way things are being handled casually without taking any safety measures.

During the shooting of the film, 'VIP' in which Manoranjan, son of Crazy Star, Ravichandran, is acting in the lead role, near Yalahanka here, a co-actor named Padmavati (45) lost her life. The reason for her death has remained mysterious. City rural police have confirmed that such an incident had indeed occurred.

As per reports, during the shooting for the film in an under-construction building with about 150 actors donning the roles of construction workers, Padmavati slipped and fell into the shaft meant for the lift. It is also being said that her death came to light during the verification of physical presence of actors at the end of the day's shooting in the evening. Thereafter, people went in search of her and found her body deposited at the bottom of the shaft. It is said that she fell from the fourth floor of the building when shooting was on but no one noticed the incident.

Manoranjan, hero of the himself, has been acting as a construction worker, and the venue of the shooting belongs to Prestige Group, it is learnt.

Padmavati, who stayed with family at Jakkur Layout, used to work as a junior artiste since some days. She was paid on daily wage basis. A case stands filed in Rajanukunte police station in this connection. The police investigation is currently aimed at finding out whether she actually slipped and fell as being made out, or whether there were other reasons behind her death.
