Mangaluru: Banner dispute takes HJV, Bajrang Dal to police station

Mangaluru, Jan 12: A dispute regarding banners has reached the police station on Thursday, January 12. The parties concerned are both Hindu organizations.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) is the complainant. Bajrang Dal is at the receiving end.

As per details, HJV and Bajrang Dal both had hung banners near Pumpwell in relation to an event at Garodi temple. Bajrang Dal members allegedly took out the banner hung by HJV.

HJV members went to Kankanady police station and complained against Bajrang Dal on the issue.

Police have intervened in the tussle between two parties.

    India is a secular state. The Supreme Court has directed that religion can not be used for politics. Why are the police not booking both the groups? The banners say that the function is Hindu Vedike or Hindi Jagaran Vedike.

    Is the area where the banner is put up BD or HJV`s property. What are authorities doing? look at how the banner has been put up. very next to the road, which can be very dangerous to motorists.

    The festivals and similar kind of functions were held in this district from ages. Now the jobless people formed so many vedike,dala's, sene, front, brigade etc.. just to please their political bosses and allowed create tension between various religons,community. our youth misguided by the leaders of various political parties and both our district once popular for intellect (Buddivantara jille) now defamed. I wish our leaders and district administration open their eyes and bring back the lost glory back.

    I agree with you, point by point.

    Parents, wake up ! Its not the religion that asks for your sons presence/membership at a particular group but its political parties. Your son will be transformed into a thug, not a gentleman.

    Please keep a watch and create a friendly atmosphere at home where children sit and talk the problems with their parents, not fear them and hide the matters.

    I agree. Religious processions should be banned. Religion is a private affair between and an individual and his God, why should this be dragged on to the streets. Why not just congregate inside ones religious premises and perform whatever worship one prefers, Why make a show of your faith? what does this achieve in the end?

    I totally agree with your suggestion. Ban all processions that go beyond the compound of a Church, Temple and Mosque.

    Also, ban pandals put up on public places, music played throughout the night - no matter for whose festival it is ! Any takers ??
