Bantwal, Jan 16: In an accident that took place at Ukkuda near Vittal, 2 people died and 6 sustained injuries.
Suleiman Haji (60) from Badiyar near Kadambu and his 3 months old grandchild Shehzan are the deceased.
The family was travelling in an Alto car to attend a function at Punacha. Suddenly the driver of the car lost control and the car ended up in a ditch on the right side of the road. The impact of the accident was so bad that all the 8 occupants were injured.
All the injured were rushed to a hospital in Puttur and 2 were declared dead on arrival.
Other six injured including the driver and 4 women are taking treatment at the hospital.
Vittal police have registered a case.
