Belagavi: I-T officials swoop down on houses of Congress leaders

Belagavi, Jan 19: It is gathered that a team of income tax (I-T) officials, on Thursday January 19, raided the houses of Congress leaders here.

The I-T officials have sought various details from the leaders, and are verifying the documents, it is learnt.

The houses of Laxmi Hebbalkar, president of state women's unit of the Congress, and Congress leader, Ramesh Jarkiholi, were raided by the officers. When reports came in, the officials were continuing with checking of various papers and documents.

Although some sources claim that they have accessed some incriminating documents, this information could not be confirmed.
