Bengaluru: Drunk girl not raped, reveal medical tests; accused were helping her

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jan 20: The medical tests conducted on a girl, who had complained that she was sexually assaulted when she was fully drunk by her own friends, have concluded that she was not raped. The complainant had admitted that she remained intoxicated for nearly two days and that she does not remember what transpired during the period she was with two people, both male.

The girl had visited Fusion Lounge Pub in the city and had partied with two of her friends, one from Kodagu, and another, a foreign national, on January 13 night. The police, who have collected CCTV footage, have observed that the complainant had tried to attack security staff at the pub after vandalizing the place, and then was found lying on the road and shouting.

She was repeatedly falling on the road and people were seen helping her to stand up. The scenes in the footage have confirmed that she was not sexually abused either in the pub or on the road. Her friend, Rikki Uthappa, had led her safely out of the pub and tried to locate her residential address in J P Nagar by contacting some numbers on her cellphone but failed. After someone gave her friend's number at Kammanahalli, Rikki and his friend, Ayub, took her there. The statements of the accused were also corroborated by the security staff.

The lady, who had said that she was drunk and regained senses on Monday morning and hence was not aware what happened, stated on Thursday that she was partying with Rikki and Ayub whom she knew well and that she does not know how some of her body parts bore injury marks. The police said that both Rikki Uthappa and Ayub, who have been booked for sexual harassment, have been asserting that they have done nothing wrong. "They have confessed that they had partied with the girl. They also said they decided to drop her off in her friend's house as she would have faced peril if left in the pub in that condition," the police stated.

Then HOW do they explain "burn marks" "injury to private parts" "assault signs on lower part of body" ?? If the victim was drugged, obviously, she CANNOT remember what happened during that time! How the heck do the policemen expect her to vouch for what happened??????

Drunkards ultimately lose everything precious they have. Here, this lady has got enough limelight for her uncultured behavior and lost 2 friends. Hopefully atleast now she will realize wht a liquor can do to oneself and come of this.

The alcohol-soaked, alcohol-happy girl is not only a threat to her own self, but also to well-meaning good samaritans who come forward to safeguard her when she is sozzled and not able to take of herself.
She deserves to be admitted to a good rehabilitation centre, where, hopefully, she'll be able to get rid of her addiction.

Thank God the medical tests revealed the truth and the good samaritans who tried to safeguard her, were not put in trouble with the law-enforcement authorities.
