Karwar: Two college students drown in Barode falls at Siddapur

Karwar, Jan 26: In a tragic incident, two students drowned in Barode falls in Siddapur taluk here on Thursday, January 26.

The deceased have been identified as Punith (20) and Guru (21).

They were final year diploma students of Siddpur Government College.

It is learnt that a group of friends had gone to the fall on account of Republic Day holiday. The incident occurred while they ventured into the water for swimming.

The bodies were taken out with the help of fire brigade personnel.

A case has been registered in Siddapur police station.

    Very sad.without knowing swimming,shouldnt get into water,that too too far.One never knows when see is queit and when not.Always have someone who knows swimming.Second it is time everyone should learn swimming.It can very useful for self and in emergency.Heartelt sympathys to the familys,may their souls rest in peace.
