Kasargod: Body found in well with Rs 3.10 lac cash in pocket

Kasargod, Jan 27: The body of a man was found lying inside a well that has gone dry, located near Bayarupadavu Paivalike near Manjeshwar in the district on Thursday January 26. The body was later identified as belonging to Mansoor Ali (45), son of Koliyad Amu Haji from Kadavath Talangare. Mansoor lived at Chettanguili with his family.

Mansoor had left home on Wednesday. It is suspected that he was killed and dumped into the well on account of some preexisting enmity. Manjeshwar police have registered a case.

Mansoor, his family members said, had left in his scooter. They do not know why he went to Bayarupadavu. His scooter was found abandoned at Karandakkad. The policemen are investigating to find out whether Mansoor was killed at Karandakkad and his mortal remains were discarded at Bayarupadavu.

During inquest, cash amounting to Rs 3.10 lac in the denomination of new Rs 2,000 notes were found in his pocket. Policemen said that the body bore some injury marks. Postmortem report is a waited.

    @Jossey Mumbai,I am sure they have not searched for money in his pocket.When they knew they wouldnt leave a paisa.Afterall money doesnt stink.Only searched in vallet or were disturbed by someone during their attack and threw him in well.may be who knew the well around,and had quarell with him.?May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.
