Mangaluru: Electrocution victims were pillars of support for their families

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 30: The tragic electrocution which happened at Gorigudda Ujjodi in the city on Sunday afternoon took away the lives of three, who happened to be the pillars of support for their respective families. Valerian Lobo, his wife, Hazmy Lobo, and a hotel worker residing near their home, Sandeep, son of Rukkayya Poojary from Moodbidri Maroor, had died after accidentally coming in contact with high tension power cables.

Valerian and Hazmy

When the iron ladder on which Sandeep had gone up to collect pepper from a vine that had gone up around the trunk of a coconut tree, the ladder had slipped and fallen on high tension cables passing nearby. Both Sandeep and Valerian were charred to death, and their abdomen, hands, face, clothes etc were thoroughly burnt. Both the legs of hazmy, who rushed to the rescue of her husband and tried to save him by pulling at his legs, turned black due to burning. The locals had called fire brigade, police, and ambulance, after which the mortal remains were moved to Wenlock Hospital.

The bodies had to wait for an hour outside the mortuary at the Wenlock Hospital as the mortuary was found locked, and the staff were absent. The site witnessed emotional scenes as people close to the deceased who gathered at the spot were overwhelmed at the sight of charred remains of their close ones. MLA, J R Lobo, who came there, summoned the officials and directed them to get the needful done without delay.

Valerian worked as AC mechanic at New Mangalore Port Trust, while Sandeep, who belonged to Moodbidri and who was working at Hotel Guruprasad at Gorigudda since the last 15 years, was shouldering the responsibility of his entire family, it is learnt.

The couple who died in this incident have left behind two children. Their daughter, Nisha, studies M Pharma at Manipal, while son, Nikhil, is studying at Karunya University, Coimbatore.

As per information, funeral will be performed on Monday.

Sad Incident for my Brother and sister

    Condolences to Family Members .
Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart.

Death is just a reason .When a time is up for he/she must depart to the almighty you have created us

i want to share some knowledge for the good people here.

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. (3:185 noble Quran).

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,(2:155 Noble Quran)

It's very painful to hear this news...three human lives were lost in this tragic accident. It's also a high time for KEB to take some strong protective measures against the high tension wires running in residential and commercial areas as well as farming/agricultural land, where people often come across in contact in one or other form.
May the almighty give all the strength to both the families, relatives, and friends to bear the loss of their loved ones and prayers to the souls to rest in heavenly peace.

Very sad to know the loss of human lives. This is my humble suggestion - let KEB officials fix rubber casing or some type of covering to all high tension cables running near all residential and commercial buildings. This will avoid any accidental burning or death caused due to any contacts. Precious lives could have been saved. May the souls Rest In Peace.
