Udupi, Feb 1: Marking the centenary celebration of the church of Our Lady of Health, Shirva, a beautiful RCC house sponsored by Vincent Priscilla Machado and family was donated to a low-income family, on Tuesday, January 31. Vincent inaugurated the house located near the Mosque at Shirva and handed over the key to the beneficiaries Harrick and Saritha D'Souza and their family. Fr Stany Tauro, the vicar of the church blessed the home premises and thanked Vincent.

The house was built at the cost of Rs 6 Lac. As per Wilson, vice president of PPC, nearly six houses have been donated by the church so far. Vincent had sponsered two houses earlier, and this is his third.

The beneficiaries were selected by the financial condition of the family. Here, Harrick is a daily wage earner and has three children. Shirva church school has been providing education to these children, considering their economic condition.

Fr Mahesh D'souza, Canute Barboza, assistant parish priests of the church, Wilson D'souza, vice president of PPC, Leena Machado, secretary, Norbert Machado and others were present at the occasion.
