Puttur: Students of high school accused of torturing fellow student

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Feb 1: A man has filed written complaint with the superintendent of police of Children's Rights Protection Unit,  city police station, and block education officer here, alleging that four students of a private high school have been inflicting physical and mental torture on his son, a ninth standard student of the said high school.

"My son has been suffering torture from his classmates. We had complained to the teacher and head teacher relating to this issue. But they treated the issue as settled after warning the offending students. Thereafter, one of the students stopped harassing my son. But the other one joined hands with three more students and continued to harass my son. Turning panicky, my son stopped attending school. As he was mentally stressed on account of fear, we provided him counselling from the doctor at the government hospital here," father of the student said in the latter. He sought action against the erring students and protect his son from harassment at school.

The school administration however, denied his claim.
