Udupi: Mother, 6-year-old son go missing, help sought

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Feb 2: A woman and her young son have been reported missing since Wednesday February 2.

Vidyalakshmi (39) and her son Anshul (6), residents of Shivalli, are the missing persons.

Vidyalakshmi's husband Praveenchandra has filed a complaint in this regard in Manipal police station.

The complaint states that on Wednesday at around 11 am, Vidyalakshmi had gone to Anshul's school to pick him up. However, they did not return home, nor did they go to any relative's or friend's house.

Vidyalakshmi is of medium built, with fair complexion, and speaks Kannada, Tulu, Hindi and English. Anshul is slim and knows Tulu and English. While Vidyalakshmi was dressed in jeans and top, Anshul was wearing a blue shirt at the time they went missing.

Those with any credible information about the missing mother and son are requested to contact Manipal police.

If the family is so prestigious and also well respected then why such incident took place in first stage? and why it is published through media for public interest? definitely public will give their opinion. Pls do not blame the commentators in such cases. there is a saying "Burning topici a public interest"

There is no point in guessing as to how she disappeared. Let the police honestly try to unearth the mystery of her disappearance.

Sad,and same time suspicious.Hope both are safe.Did the lady take her belongings with her, like ID card or money?did anyone saw her with son?is important.May be they had some arguments at home and left home with child is possible. Her husband should now answer few questions.I am sure he must be knowing why she went.Otherwise a happy woman with son wont go missing simply so.Only hope they are safe and nothing happened.

    Madam Rita,
Why the finger of suspicion on the husband right away.... it could also be possible that the persons missing are - kidnapped, met with some kind of accident, have disappeared on their own for some reason of their own.
I hv just placed my opinion and I do not wish to be drawn into any debate.

@Jrome mangalore, I just doubt it,and but hope they are safe.We had enough instances in the past that ,first they give missed complaint ,later find home people were involved in their missing.when one thinks mother and child went missing, there must be something.Abduction of both?not possible.or she must have gone with her own wish elsewhere.when only woman gone,a abduction possible.child alone too can think .Hope they come back safe and may God give them direction to come back safely.

    Madam Rita,

    Now you say...
'first they give missed complaint ,later find home people were involved in their missing'
Well it could turn out to be so... but I prefer to wait until the truth is revealed rather than jumping to conclusions by reading a news report...let the authorities entrusted with investigation explore the truth... until then let us pray for their safety...THAT'S my opinion and my principle too...
