Chikkamagaluru, Feb 3: A woman who placed an aborted seven-month foetus packed in a plastic bag in front of the police succeeded in marrying the boy who had cheated her after promising of marriage. The incident happened at Ajjampura in the district on Thursday February 2.

The man in question reportedly had made the girl to believe that he would marry her. The two also developed physical relationship after which the lady became pregnant. The man then got the pregnancy aborted and went missing.

Divya (19), daughter of Kumara Naika from Huchchaiyana Hatti in Shivani revenue division of Tarikere taluk happens to be the girl who fought bravely against the injustice and asserted her right. She came to Ajjampura with a bag containing the foetus, duly accompanied by her mother and contacted the office of a daily. The daily called the police after which police sub-inspector, Imran, took the foetus to Shivamogga where he handed over it to the medical college there. He thereafter found out the whereabouts of the accused, counselled with him, and performed the marriage on Thursday.

It is learnt that Kanta, who also belongs to Huchchaiyana Hatti, had got sexually involved with Divya about a year back. When Divya pressurized him to marry her, he said his family members were against the alliance because of caste differences. However, he promised her to marry her once the new house being built by him was completed. After Kanta said she could not wait for long because of her pregnancy, he got the pregnancy aborted through a doctor known to him. He then went missing from the village.

The police found out about the whereabouts of Kanta, brought him to police station, and prevailed upon him to marry the girl. On Thursday morning, this marriage was performed in front of the temple in their village in the presence of eldders from the village. Both then came to Ajjampura police station where the sub-inspector advised them to lead a happy life backed by mutual trust and love. Imran, who noted that there is no legal bar for the marriage as both have attained the legally admissible age for marriage, also said that the marriage would be registered in the office of the sub-registrar at Tarikere on Saturday.

What sort of logic is this? Police force someone to get married. Either a lifetime of misery, a quick upcoming divorce or one will land up dead at the hands of the other in the years ahead.

It is a pertinent question. But, going by the brave fight she gave against the injustice, it looks, she is capable to make him behave.

Is it legal and morally right to abort a seventh month old foetus , which is almost a living baby . Then why the girl is not punished ? . The act of intimacy was consensual , then why boy was forced to marry her ?. Isn't it her duty to raise up child as single mother with her own earning and with government funding rather than forcing a man to take care of her .

last , think of vice versa . If girl ditches boy and boy persuades girl to marry . Will the police oblige , won't they be arresting him under stalking clauses !? So why this gender bias ?!

This is nonsense. The girl should have been compensated. She should have the house for herself , Collected Alimony for herself & the child , This arrangement is so stupid , She is forced to marry the despecible person , who happens to have had her baby aborted. I hope better sense prevails , The inspector should have reffered her to the judge , Here the lout of a husband escapes scott free. I hope she boots the clown , & marries somebody who really cares for her genuinely

@Roshan B.Mumbai, one side you are right,a seven month old baby is no more foetus,is capable of live.other side he made her to abort, and went missing.once aborted she cant make the baby alive, why should she if baby alive raise child alive? He too is responsible for babys existence.second I dont think this forced marraige will be happy.Once he ran away from his responsibility of marraige, again made her abort and ran away. Now daily they might be having streit .Let us hope they live happily.congratulations to the police who brought them together.

Both are culprits in the eyes of God.
1.Man is culprit of breach of trust.
    2. Women is culprit indulging in sexual intercourse before marriage she should be more careful because visible consequences falls on her.
