Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Feb 3: A priest-cum-astrologer died on the spot after the car which he was driving went out of his control and plunged off the road. The accident occurred at around midnight on Thursday February 2 near Vaidyanatha Daivasthana near S V S College here.

The victim was Kartik Bhat (38), chief priest of Lord Ananteshwara temple in Vittal.

Bhat, a resident of Vittal, also functioned as an astrologer. He was returning after visiting Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple with family at Kateel and performing puja there, when the Fortuner car in which he was travelling met with an accident. Reportedly, he was at the wheels at the time.

The car plunged 40 feet down a steep slope near Vaidyanatha Daivasthana. Kartik died on the spot. The car was badly mangled in the accident. Kartik's father, Vijay Bhat, mother, Deepa Bhat, and his children, Atharva and Adya, who were also in the car, survived with minor injuries. They are out of danger.

Traffic polie from the town led by sub-inspector, Chandrashekharaiah, went to the spot, conducted checks and registered a case. They are holding further investigations.

Shri Gurubhyo Namah! Sri Anantheshwaray Namah!

Our families have known each other for generations and we often stayed @ Vijaybhatmam's home in Vittala. We've seen Karthik & Nandu from childhood. This is really a shocking & unbelievable experience. We pray to our God & our Gurus to give the strength to bear this loss and for the sadgati to the soul.
The physical emptiness and the delightful company of Karthik will be missed. He has helped so many that he will not be forgotten.
Let's continue to reachout & help the family as our own to come through the difficult times.

He was a very good bhat at vitthal temple. But after seeing the cctv footages he passed away near a divasthana which is a very doubtful thing.Maybe his luck did not work well and maybe brahma wrote that he will die on this date near this temple so and so.It is very unexpected that after returning from such a holy place he must not die.RIP BHAT MAMM

Way of Nature is unexplained and poorly understood by lay people like us -- why snatch a young talented and lovable soul in such a manner - WE can only pray that God and Guru Parijnan give strength to the family to bear with this shock and pray that Kartik's Soul Rests in Peace.

It's indeed a heart-wrending development. Vijay Bhat mam, handicapped by weak eyesight for a long time now, has already gone through a great deal of hardship.
Engaged in worship of God as he is -24x7- throughout his life, is not the Almighty testing his faith rather too much? Situations in life, such as this, tend to push one to the very brink unless one is made of sterner stuff!
This sad news received via whatsapp this morning, stunned me. Mere mortals that we're, we can do very little other than conveying our condolences to the bereaved. May God give them the necessary strength to bear this huge irreparable He has found fit to inflict on the poor family ...
