Bengaluru: S M Krishna's entry into BJP imminent - Yeddyurappa

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 4: State president of BJP, Yeddyurappa, said that Krishna's admission into BJP is a foregone conclusion. He added that national leaders of his party are in constant touch with S M Krishna since he deserted Congress party.

This statement coming from Yeddyyrappa at Kunigal on Friday February 3 attains significance in the light of information that Krishna refused to meet state in-charge of Congress affairs, Digvijay Singh, when the latter wanted to make an effort to woo the disillusioned leader back into the party. Sources close to Krishna say that Krishna has been nursing a grouse against Digvijay and this was the reason for this curt response to Singh.

Former deputy chief minister of Karnataka, R Ashoka, and several leaders have visited Krishna of late at his residence and held discussions with him. Yeddyurappa had said that he would meet Krishna at the latter's convenience and officially invite him to join his party.

At the same time, speaking at Chikkamagaluru, home minister, G Parameshwar, said that energy minister, D K Shivakumar, has been putting forth efforts to convince Krishna to change his mind. He said that Krishna happens to be one of the politicians who command high respect everywhere, and the fact that he parted ways with the party has pained lot of people including himself.

On the other hand, speaking at Gangavathi, health minister, Ramesh Kumar, opined that the resignation of Krishna is a closed chapter. "Krishna, one of the senior-most leaders, had been given both power and positions by Congress party. Because of old age, he has resigned. Even when Sonia Gandhi contacted him, he did not relent. I wish him good health and best of luck," he commented when approached by media persons.

S.M. Krishna 's mis- calculated move at this point in time, he's 84 and Narendra Modi doesn't give prominent positions to BJP Members post 75 years of age, the exception being Dr. Subramanian Swamy, who turned 77 and used by BJP against their detractors, because he being a motor mouth, but Krishna is a statesman and diplomat.
Secondly, the Congress party has a bleak future at least for the immediate future. Being 84...........he isin't looking at a long term future...

NO affiliation to any party but as a citizen of India, I will always feel this great politician will go down in the history of India as the most greedest human being on earth, I am no fan of the congress but Mr. krishna has got all the post more then he ever deserved, but now at the age of 84 thinking of the President chair or the V.P. chair is to cheap of a man he should have resigned graciously from public life and got all the admiration of the people of karnataka, but with his ever greedy wife he will be shamed in life for sure sorry sir, but very sad

2009, S.M. Krishna's miscalculation had back fired him very badly.

In 2009, during Lok Sabha election time. in spite of Karnataka had more than 6 months to finish its tenure, he has dissolved the assembly, hoping at the State level, Congress will win. But it turned out, at the Centre, Congress/UPA came to power and at the State level, Congress lost its majority and formed Govt. with the help of Janata Dal. S.M. Krishna lost his CM position.

In spite that, because of his educational back ground, Congress party was kind enough to recommend him as Governor of Maharastra, for 5 years term. Now he is getting his grouse against Congress party.

We wish S, M. Krishna all the best. Like Bangarappa, he too will shine in BJP, if he joins them. Good luck.

Many people had great respect for this person, not jumping from one party to another for decades. Now at this age just because he doesn't fit any where and ignored by fellow party members, without little bit shame jumping to an.other group. It is like Gavaskar or Dhoni playing for Pakistan.

Everything becomes 'IMMINENT', when it comes to elections & votes.
This is a big drama staged by 'SMK'. We had very respect to this person of such a caliber. He was one of the key person who laid foundation for formation of 'Modern Bengaluru' or what we call as'IT Hub' or 'Silicon City'. But see today, how this person is doing drama. This is nothing new to politicians, but this was not expected from 'SMK'. If any party is welcoming him, then it's like dropping axe on it's own feet. Purely 'Opportunistic' & 'Political Intentions".

What possibly BJP can offer to this Krishna who's way past his retirement age.everyone knows BJP's treatment to veterans.. just look at the pathetic status of advani/MM joshi/yaswnt Sinha/jaswant or even rajnath where are these guys who literaly built BJP.. now dumped into dustbin by modi/amith & co.
Krishna was leader in cong got everything from cong.in BJP he'll be at best "use & throw" like toilet paper.if Krishna has any common-sense left he should gracefully retire from active politics & save himself from humiliation.

Elderly Indian politicians ought to train younger Indian leaders to take their place and retire gracefully. Mulayam, Advani, Karunanidhi, SM Krishna want to hang on to power at any price.

There is nothing left in SMK for congress. There are some more people in congress who you should resign so that young people will play important role.
He might have played a important role but everything has a price and expiry date.He was honored for his role and he should have retired without a noise.
