Bengaluru, Feb 5: JD(S) leadership, which is already grappling with the dissidence of seven of its legislators, who have been accused of anti party activities, is likely to face another jolt. It is reliably learnt that a group of five dissident MLAs, who are unhappy with the way the party is being run, have been knocking at the doors of the Congress.

These legislators, as per information, have set forth conditions for their cross over. Chief minister (CM), Siddaramaiah, has to hold discussions with the high command of his party and promise them of allotment of Congress tickets during the next election, before they can hop to the Congress.

These five legislators have already met Siddaramaiah and held secret discussions with him, duly giving him reasons for their displeasure over the internal administration of JD(S). They reportedly told the CM that they are prepared to cross over to the Congress subject to assurance about ticket and release of more funds to their respective constituencies to be able to cement their positions. It is said that the CM has advised them to wait till the budget session of the legislature comes to an end. He has assured them of arranging a meeting with top leaders of his party so that they can hold discussions and get assurance about ticket directly from them.

These legislators have been in constant touch with the Congress hrough leaders of the earlier dissident group, Zameer Ahmed and Cheluvarayaswamy, reliable sources stated. Majority of the dissident group that has emerged now comprises MLAs representing old Mysuru region.
