Mangaluru, Feb 13: Officials of the local city corporation conducted a drive yet again to evict vendors undertaking business on footpaths near State Bank circle and Rao and Rao circle here on Monday February 13 morning.
It looked as if the vendors had advance information about the raid. Most of the vendors and their wares, which were usually found occupying the roadsides, were missing.
The raiding party however removed whatever things they could lay their hands on during the eviction drive.
These raids have also been held in the past. It has become an established practice for the vendors to stay away from their shops immediately before and after the raids and then re-establish themselves at the same spots thereafter.
