Muscat, Feb 17: The organizing team of Oman Tuluver comprising of Ramananda Shetty, Padmakar Mendon, Sudhir Shetty, Arun Poojary and Rajesh Shetty successfully organized mega 'Oman Tuluver Family Sports Festival 2017' on February 3 at Ahli Sidab Club ground. The timeless moments of the sports day which spanned three Fridays will be remembered.
Oman Tuluver Family Sports was a hit for just following reason: Kukku Thappu da torana,Bareda Thorana, Pathaake Thorana, Bella neer , sajjige bajil , kori Sukka , Aletha Neer were some of the offerings in the midst of a fun filled but high voltage track field and team games which made the day a hit.
The last Friday was the best despite a bit of inclement weather. The day began with inaugural by various community members followed by National Anthems of Oman and India, mass oath taking. A torch run led by Gowtham Raj, Venugopal Karkera, Rakesh Suvarna, Damodar Shetty followed by Suchetna Karkera, Sujatha Lokesh, Bharathi Rai and Varija Acharya around the Tulunadu cities followed.
Thrilling women's cricket and throwball, men's throwball and volleyball finals kept the fun aplenty. The most high powered men's and women’s tug-of-war was held at the end of the day after an unbelievable level of exuberant field games. Kids sack race, balance walk, ladies and gents relay, individual age category races and competitions and power shot for both ladies and gents for ages 18 to 55 were also conducted.
The chief guest of the evening Duleep Mendis was the renowned international cricketer and former captain of Srilanka, current chief development officer and coach of Oman national cricket team. He gave away the winners trophy to the men’s and ladies’s cricket champions and best performers of the cricket category. Dr C K Anchan and Arunakar Shetty gave away the coveted trophies to the team and individual winners. Royal Strikers team emerged champions and clinched the 'Tulunada Champion Trophy 2017'.
The sponsors and contributors who made this event one of the best and played in true spirit of sportsmanship and Tuluva were appreciated in the vote of thanks.
