Joshipura to present New York-inspired collection at AIFW AW'17

New Delhi, March 3 (IANS): Fashion Designer Namrata Joshipura will present a New York-inspired collection at the forthcoming Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) Autumn Winter (AW) 2017 here.

Joshipura and cosmetics brand Maybelline New York have partnered for their show at the four-day fashion extravaganza, which starts on March 15.

On March 17, latest trends from the runways of New York will be showcased here.

"No one can deny that we, as Indians, love drama, and the easiest way to manifest it is through gorgeous make-up and an elegant sense of style. I'm thrilled to be working once again with Maybelline to create an eclectic New York-inspired collection that will be high on drama, fashion and of course some fantastic make-up looks," Joshipura said in a statement.

"It's going to be a diverse collection -- one that resonates with young women who believe in themselves and are always ready to make things happen," she added.

Talking about the collaboration, Pooja Sahgal, General Manager, Maybelline New York - India, said that Joshipura "understands the style, spirit and energy of our brand and represents it perfectly on the runway".

"We are looking at creating a powerful fashion and beauty statement, loaded with drama. And this is not just for the runaway; we want our consumers to enjoy, experiment and play with Maybelline's drama concept, in their daily lives," Sahgal said.

Sunil Sethi, Fashion Design Council of India's President, says that "Just like Maybelline, Namrata is also a fashion-forward brand in our industry, who creates her own trends. Her individualistic, bold and on-trend design sensibilities fit seamlessly with that of Maybelline's. Together, I am sure they are going to pull off a tremendous show."
