Mani Ratnam's energy level very inspiring: Mir Sarwar

Chennai, March 16 (IANS): Actor Mir Sarwar, who is making his Tamil debut with Mani Ratnam's upcoming romantic drama "Kaatru Veliyidai", says the energy the "Roja" filmmaker brings to the sets is very inspiring.

"The kind of energy he brings to the sets is amazing and very inspiring. To see him in action is like learning experience for a lifetime. I consider myself extremely privileged and lucky to have been part of this project," Mir told IANS.

Known for his work in films such as "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Phantom", Mir plays the antagonist in the film.

Talking about how he landed the role, he said: "When I learnt they were auditioning in Mumbai, I decided to give it a shot. I didn't mind even doing a very small role. I had to be part of the film. So I followed the normal procedure and gave a screen test as well as look test."

Remaining tight-lipped about his role, Mir said his portion was shot in Hyderabad and Ladakh.

"While shooting in Hyderabad was fun, the climactic condition in Ladakh made things very challenging. Working with Mani sir took me back to my "Bombay" days," he said, adding that his portion is completely shot in Hindi.

Also starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead, the film is gearing up for release on April 7.
