UAE, Mar 6: A joint conference on 'Organ Transplantation' will be hosted by the Gulf Medical College (GMC) in collaboration with the Cairo University (Kasr Al Ainy, faculty of medicine) on Saturday March 15 at GMC's premises here at Ajman, stated a press release from the College IT & promotions department.
The joint conference is entitled 'Organ Transplantation – Medical and Surgical Aspects'. At the conference a team of experts lead by Professor Ahmed Sameh Farid, dean, faculty of medicine of the Cairo University will deliver a series of state-of-art lectures.
Prof Farid informed that this conference is the beginning of their long term alliance with GMC, Ajman to initiate joint research activities, students and faculty exchange programmes and joint post-graduate programmes.
Thumbay Moideen, president of GMKC said "This will be one of our landmark events and we are happy to join hands with the prestigious Cairo University. We are looking forward to many joint activities including educational and professional development programmes. We will make a formal announcement of our activities soon."
Over 150 doctors from all over UAE are expected to attend the conference. Delegates from ministry hospitals, private hospitals and clinics from all over the country are expected to participate in the conference. The event is accredited by the ministry of health for 7 CME hours, stated the release.

The conference is planned in coordination with Cairo University faculty by the health communications division of the GMC. The division plans and organizes many conferences and workshops at regular intervals. They have announced their next conference, which is an international conference on nursing in the month of May, details of which will be released very soon.
