Bangalore, Mar 11:
Former state cabinet minister, Eva Vaz (85) died in the early hours after brief illness on Tuesday, March 11. 

After finishing BA and B Ed from Madras University, she served in many social and governmental organizations during her life time. She also served as chairperson of Kasturba Karya Vidayalaya in Chikmagalur district, corporator of Bangalore City Corporation and state minister in the 80s. Interestingly, she was the only woman corporator in Bangalore City Corporation from 1969 to 71.

She was also recognized as a good speaker who had command over 6 languages. She was survived by three daughters Penny, Philomena, Pam and thousands of well wishers. Her funeral service will be held at St Patrick Church, Bangalore at 3.00 p m on Wednesday March 12.
