Neeraj Pandey thanks Bappi Lahiri for 'Zubi zubi'

Mumbai, Apr 1 (IANS): Filmmaker Neeraj Pandey is thankful to music composer Bappi Lahiri for permitting the use of his yesteryear chartbuster "Zubi zubi" in his film "Naam Shabana".

The film features a scene in which actress Taapsee Pannu's onscreen role Shabana is seen visiting a nightclub while on a mission as a spy.

The scene features a rendition of "Zubi zubi".

The track marks Pandey's second association with Lahiri after "Dhar Pakad" from "Special 26".

"'Zubi zubi' was one of the most popular party tracks of yesteryears. The song perfectly encapsulates the enigmatic vibe of the scene in 'Naam Shabana'. It was an instant thought to have the reprised version of Bappi da's song in our film. I'm thankful to the legendary composer to have let us recreate the magic of the classic in our film," Pandey said in a statement.

"Naam Shabana" is a spin-off, based on Taapsee's character in Neeraj Pandey's "Baby". The film, directed by Shivam Nair, has high action sequences and Taapsee, who plays the title role, prepared hard to perform the daredevil stunts.
