Congratulations to the winning team. Enjoy your victory and get back to the task in hand as early as possible. The plight of MCC Bank is not due to lack of support from members of the bank or community but due to lack of professionalism and commitment in managing bank affairs and bowing to peer pressure and favoritism in disbursal of loans. No doubt the NPA has reached unhealthy proportions. While the banks established by other communities in Mangalore much later have reached greater heights MCC is languishing at the bottom. So the first task of the new team should be to put the bank back on rails and not some popular steps to appease their supporters. I wish them best of luck, wisdom and Gods blessings in taking the bank to dizzy heights.

MCC Bank’s elections indicate that there is a rush to grab the management of the bank. The shareholders have not received dividend for quite some time could be one of the reasons to force the shareholders to change the management.

The new management will have to study the financial situation of the bank, the outstanding debt, the overhead cost to run and maintain the branches. There is always rush to obtain loan from the bank. And the loan seekers will always make personal approaches to directors. The directors will show their favor advocating the loan should be approved.

Giving loan is easy but recovery is difficult. I have seen the recovery process. It is difficult. It is tough. I have mingled with some of the old directors of MCC Bank and have seen how tough job it was for them to maintain a bank of Mangalorean Catholics. I wish all the best to new directors. May the MCC bank be helpful to the people of Mangalore to solve their financial problems to some extent.
