Mangaluru, Apr 17: Following circulation of fake messages on the health of Ahmed Qureshi, accused in attempt-to-murder cases who was allegedly tortured in police custody, the police on Monday April 17 said that stringent action would be taken against those responsible within two days.

Addressing a press meet here, police commissioner Chandra Sekhar said, "This morning we held a meeting regarding Ahmed Qureshi. They will be booked under section 505 (2) and 153 of the IPC, and Section 66 of the IT Act.

"The hospital has given reports on Qureshi and we will produced the same in the court. There are some vested interests who want to disturb law and order. Within two days, we will take action against rumour mongers," he said.

"There are some miscreants who are taking advantage of this situation. We have heard they have even issued threats to good citizens who are trying to protect the truth. We will give necessary protection to them.

"There is a demand for CID inquiry to the alleged harassment of Qureshi. We will submit all the reports that we have," he added.

Urging the media to handle the case responsibly, the police commissioner said, "So far, the media has been impartial in this issue. Media needs to be responsible while reporting as things can go wrong very quickly."

I am only repeating here what a business tycoon said to me about the present Police Force in Mangalore. Without any bias or prejudice I would repeat what this person said about the officials. .... It was stated that presently we have an excellent Police Force composed of Officers as never before. All have excellent credentials and are ever anxious to help people irrespective of caste and creed or religion.

The Commissioner an engineer turned a Police Officer has an excellent track record. He has two deputies - one handling crime and traffic and the other one handling law and order. They are indeed PEOPLES" men. They are working for the interest of people and the people are safe in their hands.

With all due respect after interacting with these 3 incompetent officers for almost 2 years regarding my cases I agree with you that a business tycoon would praise these indolent men as the only action they will take is in favor of people with money or political influence. I have solid evidence regarding this. Also being an engineer doesn't guarantee integrity as the case with Arvind Kejriwal. I will in a few weeks expose Mr. Chandrashekar for what he is. A highly incompetent officer who has indulged in several criminal acts. Regarding his track record there are several complaints pending against him which the higher officers are slow to take action.

Who decides what is a rumor and what is not? Now don't tell me that our police are the arbitrators to decide this. This is nothing but an excuse for clamping down on free speech.

It is not fake messages that disturb the law and order. When our authorities have started to take the sides of right-wing groups all these problems started.

For the sake of superficial communal harmony, our constitutional rights are trampled.

Just a few days ago couple were taken to police station, because they were of different community and they were eating biryani. So what did out great police do in this regard? Instead for protecting the rights of the couple they called the parents of the couple. Who gave this power to the police? What did they do to the people who handed them to the police, who were actually breaking the law? I can expect such things from somewhere from north indian village. But i really feel ashamed that such uncivilized behavior are entertained by police for the purpose communal harmony. Such things matter. that's why I don't trust the police anymore.

Last year in 2016 there was a very huge BAJRANG DAL ACTIVISTS gathered in Nehru Maidan for welcoming Hate Speacher YOGI ADITHYANATH, this function and BAJRANG DAL's gatheration was made without any permission from any department either permission from D.C or Police department. But our Mangalore Police allowed Bajrang dals do this very huge gatheration and made this fuction with respect by the help of police even without any permission. This shows Bajrang dals gunda gardi and our police did not arrest any single BD activist that time.
Now in quraishi case police is very serious and strict in this matter.

Also resently Kerala CM Pinayar vijayan came to mangalore, and Whole mangalore shud down by Bajrang dal goons, did they take any action that time.
why double stand, why double stand, our country democratic everyone has same rights,

It is a matter of grave concern when senior police officers issue threats to silence legitimate voices expressing concerns against their illegal actions. Was the Commissioner sleeping when Kateel said he will burn mangalore?
