M’lore: Dr Gerald Pinto, H J Goveas Bag Konkani Academy Book Award

Mangalore, Mar 20: Dr Gerald Pinto, H J Goveas and Nandini (Stella D'Costa)  have bagged the Konkani Academy Book Award for the year 2007.

This was announced by the state Konkani Sahitya Academy during its meeting held on Tuesday March 18 at the Academy auditorium.

While Dr Gerald Pinto won the award for his novel ‘Tisri Takli,’ H J Goveas was chosen for his short story titled ‘Havn Tuka Bhogsunchin Nam.’ Nandini, wife of Cha Fra D’Costa bagged the award for her poetry titled ‘Tuje Muje Madem.’

The awardees will be felicitated during ‘Konkani Vaibhav’ programme which will be held at 5 pm on Saturday March 29 at St Aloysius College IT Auditorium.

The award consists of Rs 5000 in cash, a citation and grand felicitations by dignitaries.

    I was filled with great immense to hear the announcement of Konkani academy book awards to the two great polular writers. I'm regularly reading Mr. H. J. Goveas' srories. Recently published his short stories book "Haun Tuka Bogsunchina" was a top hit and each story was wonderful, which reminds his tallent of writings in dreams too.

    He is just one of the best, great and memorable among the top Konkani writers. His last year published book "April 22" also was top hit. He has millions of his own fans. I wish him very success and many more awards in his near future literature work. About Dr. Gerald Pinto, I havn't read much about him, yet I wish him too very good future in Konkani writings.
