Oman United Pangalites celebrates Easter

Muscat, Mar 30: The parishioners of  St. John Evangelist Church, Pangla in the Sultanate of Oman under the banner of the Oman United Pangalites joyfully celebrated Easter with their families and friends on the 28th March 2008. 

The celebrations began at 12 noon with a welcome address by Naveen Barboza , the current president of  the Oman United Pangalites. He extended message of Easter and wishing the gathering a blessed Easter.  He also expressed his joy to see the Pangalites gathered as a big family on the joyous occasion of our Lord’s resurrection. Lavina D’sa conducted the prayer session and Jovin Menezes read the word of God.

Melwin Menezes the compere of the day kept the crowd busy with various  entertaining games  for the adults and the children. The main attraction of the day was a fun filled Bonanza conducted by Sunil D’sa and  Prakash D’sa.











































The future stars of Pangla Liza D’sa, Rianna Lobo, Chelsea D’sa and Shannon Menezes presented scintillating dance to spread a perfect dancing mood into the audience. It was followed by Pangla’s young and bubbling talent Shaun Menezes showed his skills on the stage and tickling the ribs of the audience with his witty jokes. 

Remy Lobo proposed Vote of Thanks and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Oman United Pangalites to all those who helped in organizing the function. He specifically appreciated the hard work rendered by all the committee members of the Oman United Pangalites. Helen D’souza a well known elderly personality from Pangla,  then blessed the food.  



After the sumptuous lunch the crowd did not wish to go home until the Magalorean special baila dance took place.
Indeed the Oman United Pangalites had made a good effort to share the happiness and joy of the risen to with all the Pangalites who always look forward to meeting people from their soil, the soil that radiates the fragrance of jasmine.
