Bahrain: Stage set for Wilson Olivera's musical nite on May 18

Bahrain, May 17: The stage is all set for the long awaited Wilson Olivera Nite at Our Lady of Arabia Auditorium, Sacred Heart Church, Bahrain on Thursday May 18 at 7.30 pm.

As the countdown begins for the melodious evening, ‘Sangeet Sardar’ Wilson Olivera has already arrived Bahrain along with the music director Roshan D’Souza Angelore and popular singer Prashanth Pinto. The rest of the artists are expected to arrive on Wednesday.

After two magnificent concerts in Bahrain, a decade ago organized by ‘Konkani Kutamb’, Konkani community of Sacred Heart Church is hosting this event which is certain to entertain the houseful crowd.

Having rendered momentous lyrics and melodious music, Wilson is fondly conferred with titles like ‘Sangeeth Sardar’ and ‘Konkan Manik’. He is also the recipient of prestigious awards like 'Konkani Kala Samaj Puraskar' in 1995, 'Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Award' in 2003, 'Divo Sahitya Puraskar' in 2008 and 'Konkani Surdas Puraskar' in 2009.

The musical evening will be compered by popular Master of Ceremony Ronald Olivera who is the younger brother of Wilson. Ronald has the distinction of anchoring the musical nites of most of the Konkani composers like the legend late Wilfy Rebimbus, Henry D’Souza, Wilson Olivera, Mick Max, Melwyn Peris, Claud D’Souza, Maxim Pereira, Lancy Moras, Esther Noronha and Goan Nightingale Lorna. Incidentally he will be honoured by Toastmasters International during the District Toastmasters Annual Convention (DTAC) in Bahrain on the 19th of May, for his 25 years of contribution to the organization. He is sure to rock the stage with his unique style and wit.

Wilson Olivera will be ably supported by renowned music director Roshan D’Souza, Angelore and the eminent musicians of Bahrain. Other popular singers from the Konkani musical arena scintillating singer Prashanth Pinto, evergreen Preema D’souza, GVOM 2016 Champion Joyline Gonsalves, multitalented Vanessa Saldanha, and the dazzling sisters Lanisha and Delisha Vaz.

Popular singers from Bahrain will also accompany the maestro in contributing additional charm to his evergreen rendition of melodious performances.

Apart from music and dance the other moments of delight will be contributed by the ever popular comedians ‘Melwin Kalakul & Team’ who are sure to create a riot of laughter among the crowd and keep them entertained all along.

The show will also have variety of cultural dances by trained youngsters who will make audience tempted to groove to their mesmerizing dance moves and steps.
