Udupi: Vishwas Amin elected president of district Youth Congress

Udupi, May 18: Results of are out. Vishwas Amin has elected as the president of Udupi district youth Congress on Thursday, May 18.
 
10 general secretaries were also elected on the occasion.

The election was held for 5 constituencies. Melwin D’Souza in Kaup, Shekar Poojary in Byndoor, Ithyarthi Shetty in Kundapur, Deepak Kotian in Karkala and Prashant Poojary in Udupi have been elected as presidents.























 
Vishwas Amin is a native of Padubidri and has a political background. His father and mother both are active members of Congress. Vishwas Amin received 1073 votes and was elected as president. Though he was the only contestant for the post, according to Congress party regulations the election had to be conducted.

In Kaup constituency there were 9 contestants in fray. There were 17 contestants in Kundapur constituency. In Udupi, Byndoor and Byndoor there was only one contestant each. The elections were held on Sunday May 14.

Eight officers of Indian Youth Congress Central Election Committee conducted the elections. Elections and counting process were held in Congress Bhavan in Udupi.

The election processes here were conducted smoothly compared to Mangaluru.

There are 12,500 members in Udupi district Youth congress.
