Dubai: 200 Shops Gutted in Fire in Cabin Market in Deira

DUBAI, Apr 2: Around 200 shops were gutted in fire in the Naif area in Deira on the wee hours of Wednesday. According to eyewitness the incident occurred at around 1:45 am.

Primary reports say that the fire was due to electrical short circuit in an air-conditioning unit, which was located next to a transformer.

The market sold textiles,ready-made garments, perfumes and toys. Most of the shops were owned by Indians.

    REALLY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT THE KNIFE FIRE ACCIDENT.THIS IS SECOND SUCH INCIDENT HAPPENEING IN DUBAI,THE FIRST BEING AL QUOZ FIRE ACCIDENT.WE RESIDENTS OF DUBAI HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL HANDLING ELECTRIC EQUIPMENTS AND GAS CYLINDERS.

    So many fire accidents in Dubai within few weeks! I am a resident of Naif since past 6 years. It’s really very bad to see such incidents in our neighborhood.
