Dubai, Apr 7: Putturians Day 2008, a get-together of the members of Emirates Putturians was organized at Almas Hotel apartments, Dubai here recently. It was the first programme organized by the association for the year 2008.

President Antony A Mascarenhas welcomed the crowd and thanked the gathering for their whole-hearted support. Games such as eating apple without any support for gents, wearing gents shirt inside-out for ladies and guardian angel for children were enjoyed by the crowd.

Filmy dance by Ancil, Majella, Pramod and special appearance by Bubbly Praveen  kept the crowd on their toes. The crowd danced to the new and old medley and melodies of  D J Austin and the song collection was highly appreciated. The sumptuous lunch by Canara Resturant was enjoyed by the crowd. Lydia, Jyothi, Alwyn and Philu were at the registration counter. Gilbert was in charge of collection and discipline while Kiran and Ajith managed beverage counter, Deena Coelho and Nirmala Mascarenhas were the Volunteer coordinators in conducting the activities.

Showers of blessings were poured by the crowd while witnessing the cake cutting ceremony of Alex Gonsalvas vice-president of the association to mark his 50th birthday. His wife Celestine and son Alston who flew from India to witness this moment accompanied him. Michael D’Souza the backbone of every Putturian event joined the ceremony to cheer Alex.Lancy D’Souza bagged the prize for being the first person to buy the entry coupon.  Winners bagged desert safari tickets, Dhow cruise tickets, DVD player, flash drives, momentos etc.

The event concluded with a scintillating baila by DJ Austin.
