Mangaluru: Woman cheats nearly 300 people with promise of government jobs

Mangaluru, Jun 9: A complaint stands lodged against a woman for cheating more than 300 people with the promise of providing government jobs.

Geetha Shenoy, a resident of Naguri in city is the accused. She originally hails from Udyavar in Udupi district.

As per details available, Geetha claimed that she worked at deputy commissioner’s (DC) office. She promised people that she would provide government jobs and took money from them.

When Durga Sene association heard about the cheating, the women from this association brought Geetha to the women police station and complained. Later she was taken to Bunder police station.

Geetha spoke to some of the affected people in the presence of police personnel and promised them that she would return the money.

If Geetha does not return money, a case will be registered against her, police said.

    when sie has cheated more than 300 people,and now promises to give back ,can one believe it?when she was a sincere person,she wouldnt take it at all.Hope she will be in the first place not fly away from mangalore,,let alone return back money.How people believed her and gave the money first before anything realizes.She should be earliest put behind bars.before she flies to Mallya.

    How can these 300 people blindly believe a woman who promises Government jobs. Don't these people know that a Govt Job no more is possible without answering exams. Also don't we read repeated such cheating cases where people take money and no jobs & no money.!!
    This could be just the tip of a larger ice burg. Getting to roots of this might reveal truth about involvement of other people as well.

    Now a days there are many women theifs. They just sometimes act as social workers and extract money from people. Beware of these kind of people. They are more common in areas like Kundpaura and Gangolli
