Dubai, Apr 11: Sandalwood’s current star on the rise, Darshan is a lovable person.  Without any air of a high flying star, Darshan is easily approachable and easy to communicate with.  It was a fine chance to meet the gifted actor from Bangalore at the press conference held at the Regent Hotel to introduce the stars who will perform at the Stars Nite on Friday at the Al Nasr Leisureland organized by the Karnataka Sangha.  Zee kannada have taken the major initiative in supporting this event in Dubai.

For that matter, Darshan has come to Dubai with a plane load of performers that includes actors, actresses, dancers, choreographers, musicians, make up artistes and the like.  There are at least 30 artistes all ready to conquer Dubai with their performance.  “We will perform better than anyone who has been here before and we intend coming to Dubai every year from now” was the unanimous verdict of almost all the stars who met the press.

“This is an astonishing city” said Darshan.  Almost everything is like Bangalore and we are delighted to see so many Kannadigas here.  “We want to impress  and every single person who has come has put in a lot of hard work with their acts.  It is going to be an extra ordinary show which everyone will remember” said Darshan.

Most of those making the trip are first timers performing outside India and are in a great mood to put in full efforts to make the event memorable.

There were many prominent names like Sunderraj, Anu, Ashmitha, Meghna, Neetu, Kokila, Tarun, Jagdesh and so many others readily giving details about the show.  But prominent in the lineup was also upcoming young singer Chinmay and the lady with the booming voice Chaitra who are expected to sing some sensational numbers.

Coming out of Karnataka for the first time, along with Zee and Karnataka Sangha, the participating artistes seem determined to impress.  So much hard work has gone into the event according to the organizers and one can only expect a good show in the end.

At the end of the press conference where several prominent officials of the Karnataka Sangha were present along with others, Darshan promised a stellar performance.  As one  of the artistes commented, “Darshan is the honey bee of our programme and we are depending on him for the success of this event.”  There was however someone who went to the extent of describing Darshan as the  king bee of our event .

Interestingly, one lady who impressed was Mangalore born Ashmita who has acted in 3 different languages in Kannada, Malayalam and tulu with 9 films to date.  Currently, she is having 2 films set to release ‘Matte Banda Ganesha’ and ‘Thyagu’ soon.  A winner for the best supporting actress in the Tulu film Ashmita seems set to reach greater heights as the years go by.  Ashmita was delighted to perform in Dubai and hoped that she would be able to come back for more performances.

The star & musical night takes place on Friday evening at the Al Nasr Leisureland and is organized by the Karnataka Sangha Dubai.
