Sullia, Jun 13: Dakshina Kannada member of parliament, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has written to union minister for external affairs, Sushma Swaraj, seeking her help in bringing back two young men from the region who had visited Saudi Arabia on the basis of promise of lucrative employment but now facing travails.

Sharat, son of the late Narayana Poojary from Shantinagar here had left from here to work at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, about 11 months back. He had secured employment through a visa agent from Mangaluru named Muneer, who worked through a person from Kerala. Sharat was promised the job of driver. But once he reached Jeddah, he has been engaged for loading things into trucks and has been facing torture there. This information was conveyed by Sharat to his family thorough voice message.

Office bearers of the local unit of Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike, who were informed about this development, had raised this topic at a press conference. Sharat's brother, Bharat, had sent petitions to people's representatives and police officials seeking help.

MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel, has written to Sushma Swaraj, informing her about the problems faced by Sharat. He has requested the minster to use her good offices to see that Sharat as well as a person named Ravi from Bantwal, who has also been facing similar problems, to come back to their native places.
