One Direction might reunite for Grenfell Tower charity single

London, Jun 18 (IANS): Boy band One Direction might reunite for music mogul Simon Cowell's charity single in aid of the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.

Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne will appear alongside stars such as Rita Ora and Robbie Williams in the single, a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge over troubled water".

Harry Styles and Niall Horan are yet to say if they will be singing on the track, but according to The Sun newspaper, they are trying to make space in their schedules, reports dailymail.co.uk.

After discussions, Cowell confirmed that the stars will feature on a cover version of the 1970 hit, and all the proceeds will go to those affected by the blaze.

But even if all four members of the boy-band appear on the track, they will not be performing as One Direction.

A source said: "If all four (One Direction) came on board, it would be as solo acts as Liam has to record in the US."

The boy-band hit the top of the UK singles chart four times before going on hiatus in 2016.
